Have you ever wished Vacaville had a drive-thru Chipotle? Well, it just might be getting one.
At the August 15th Vacaville Planning Commission meeting, the Community Development Department shared they have received and are reviewing plans for a drive-thru Chipotle (called “Chipotlane”) to be located at the Davis Street Plaza.
No specifics were given as to the exact location or timeline, so stay tuned.
In 2019, Chipotle began testing the concept of “Chipotlanes” which aren’t traditional drive-throughs, but instead drive-through pickup lanes for online orders. In July of 2022, the first Bay Area “Chipotlane” location opened in Novato. It appears Vacaville may be getting one in the near future.
It’s also unclear what this means for Chipotle’s existing Vacaville location near the Nut Tree Plaza.
Chipotle Mexican Grill is an American fast-casual restaurant chain that specializes in burritos, tacos, bowls, and salads with a focus on using high-quality, fresh ingredients. It was founded in 1993 by Steve Ells in Denver, Colorado. The company received a major investment from McDonald’s which fully divested from Chipotle in 2006.
In May 2018, Chipotle moved their corporate headquarters to Newport Beach, Ca.
Of the chain’s roughly 3,100 restaurant locations, only a little over 500 are “Chipotlanes.”
