Arcade

Vacaville has a pretty cool arcade in the Vacaville Premium Outlets. It’s clean, well-maintained, and fun for all ages. Be sure to try the VR roller coaster! Don’t have any quarters? No worries. It’s all digital these days… but the fun and nostalgia are still there!

Horseback Riding

Despite being close to the Bay Area, Solano County is still largely rural. This means there are plenty of places to ride horses. Plenty of places around provide lessons in both Western and English riding.

Escape Room

Beat the Room is Vacaville’s first escape room experience. Each room is a themed experience with challenging puzzles to be solved and mysteries to be unlocked if you want to escape. They are designed for groups of 2-8 people and each experience is about an hour long. Book online!

Beer & Wine Tasting

For the grown-ups, there is no shortage of beer, wine and even whiskey tasting in the area. Vacaville is a short drive from the world-renowned Napa Valley with countless wineries and tasting rooms to make an entire day of.

Beer drinkers are also in luck. In the last few years plenty of micro breweries have sprouted up in town and the surrounding area.

Paintball and Airsoft

The Midway Paintball Facility in Vacaville has six fun paintball courses on its 25 acre property. No equipment? No problem. Midway Paintball has affordable rental packages that give you everything you need to play. Take the family on the weekend or book privately during the week for parties and business events.

Regionally, we are close to other paintball and airsoft facilities including Ballistic Ben’s in Fairfield and Wild Adventure Paintball Park in Zamora.

Float Spa

Vacaville has a True Rest Float Spa. It’s located in Nut Tree Plaza. Book an hour inside a sensory deprivation tank to achieve some of the most intense relaxation you can imagine. This is how my first float spa went.

Ice Skating

Vacaville has its own ice skating rink which hosts a variety of lessons, events and other skating activities year-round. Public skating sessions are just $15 and include skate rentals. The facility hosts birthday parties and other group events. Around the holidays check their calendar for festive winter activities.

Nut Tree Plaza

The Nut Tree Plaza shopping center.

At the site of the historic Nut Tree now stands Nut Tree Plaza. It’s a shopping center built to keep some of the look and feel of the Nut Tree alive. There are rides for kids, an arcade and some fantastic dining. One of our favorites is Fenton’s for an old-timey diner feel.

Dueling Pianos

Dueling pianos are simply a great time and Vacaville is not without its own dueling piano bar. Makse on Main Street is not just a great place to eat and drink. On most evenings it hosts a dueling piano show. If you haven’t experienced one of these shows, they’re a lot of fun and make for a great date night or outing with friends.

Trampoline Park

Of course trampoline parks are popular with the kids, but they can really be fun for all ages. Sky Zone (formerly Rockin’ Jump) on Alamo Drive has open jump areas, a dodgeball arena and the Slam Dunk Zone, so there’s a lot more than just jumping.

Challenge a friend on the X-Beam in an American Gladiator style competition to knock your opponent off a beam and into the foam pit. There’s a stunt bag area where you can get some serious air and land on a giant inflatable cushion.

Rockin Jump has dedicated hours for small children and plenty of party rooms that can be booked with packages that include food and drinks.

Cigar Lounge

If you enjoy a good cigar, stop by the Corona Club. Pick from a massive selection of cigars or bring your own. Beer and wine are served. Play games in the lounge or relax and watch some sports. It has the vibe of a speakeasy and is located right downtown.

Disc Golf

At the Pena Adobe park, Vacaville has a public disc golf course. It’s 18 holes stretch across the park. It’s a great combination of light exercise, fresh air and friendly competition. You’ll need to bring your own discs though.

Bike Trails

Vacaville has a lot of bike trails both in the city and just outside. Maintained bike paths which run along creeks in town allow for bicyclists to travel across town while rarely having to ride on a street. There are also paths within parks, such as Pena Adobe.

Rowland Freedom Center Air Museum

Just around the corner from Nut Tree Plaza is the Rowland Freedom Center. It’s an air museum at Solano County’s Nut Tree Airport and has a lot of historical memorabilia from Vacaville’s history in the air industry. Sit in the cockpit of classic planes and check out their exhibits for a fun and educational experience. Check the calendar for special events.

Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre

Vacaville’s Performing Arts Theatre has a robust calendar of performances including plays, concerts and comedy shows. Their concert series has hosted names such as Joe Nichols, Clint Black, Gin Blossoms, Blues Traveler, the Oak Ridge Boys and many more.

See their calendar for upcoming shows.

Alpaca Farm

Here’s one you weren’t expecting. Just outside Vacaville lies the Menagerie Hill Ranch. Book an appointment to visit their alpacas, have a photo shoot or event. It’s an out-of-the-box fun thing to do – especially with kids.

Archery

One of several things to do at the Pena Adobe park is archery. There is a small archery range on the west side of the park. You’ll need your own bow and arrow, but it’s free to use.

Indoor Shooting Range

For gun enthusiasts, there are indoor shooting ranges at Guns, Fishing and Other Stuff or Center Mass Shooting Range. Rent a lane, rent a gun or take a shooting lesson. For outdoor shooting, look at the Yolo Sportsmens Association and for skeet shooting, try Travis Skeet and Trap Range or head out to the Birds Landing.

Vacaville Art Gallery

Drop in to Vacaville’s own art gallery. See local and nationally renowned works of art right here in town. The Vacaville Art Gallery is a member-supported museum located next to Andrews Park in downtown Vacaville. It’s been in operation since 1963.

Dinner and a Movie

Catch a movie at Vacaville’s Brendan Theaters and pair it with dinner at one of our favorite restaurants for dates. Brendan Theaters has leather reclining seats and even serves alcoholic beverages. Other local theaters include Regal Edwards in Fairfield and the Regal in Davis.

Shopping at the Outlets

One of the things Vacaville is most known for is the Vacaville Premium Outlets. It’s an outdoor shopping center located near the intersections of I-80 and I-505. There are over 85 stores with name brands like Nike, Under Armour, Michael Kors, Kate Spade and J. Crew.

Vacaville Parks

Vacaville boasts over 30 parks with different activities including field sports, disc golf, basketball, pickleball and more. There are two dog parks in Vacaville and an all-abilities playground. The city prides itself on fun, safe and clean parks which you should definitely check out if you’re looking for something to do.

Farmer’s Market

Each Saturday morning, local producers and crafters converge downtown for the Vacaville Farmer’s Market. Stroll through the booths and support local commerce.

Creek Walk Concert Series

Vacaville’s Creekwalk Concert Series takes place at Andrews Park on Friday nights from June through August. This is a long-standing event hosted by the City of Vacaville in CreekWalk Plaza. The series brings in nationally-renowned cover bands and local artists. The event also includes craft booths and it’s really a great time.

Bowling

Bowlero Vacaville is Vacaville’s bowling alley (formerly Stars Recreation Center) and is available for walk-in bowling or you can reserve a lane ahead of time. There’s a lot more than just bowling though.

Bowlero has an arcade, billiards, sports bar and lounge area. It’s a fun place for all age ranges and a variety of activities.

Lake Berryessa

Just north of Vacaville lies one of California’s largest manmade lakes. Lake Berryessa is a short drive and great place for boating, fishing, camping and other water sports. If you have a boat, there are a handful of boat launches including Pleasure Cove and Capell Cove.

The lake is big enough that I’ve never had an issue with over-crowding. There’s room to relax and space to get some speed for water skiing or inner tubes.
