On Saturdays only, the Vacaville recycling facility accepts a variety of electronic and hazardous household wastes. If you’re looking to get rid of old paint, fuel, solvents, vehicle maintenance chemicals, household cleaners, mattresses, electronics, and more, you can drop them off on Saturdays between 9 AM and 3 PM.
There is no charge to recycle these items and you will not be paid for them. You will be required to show a valid identification card and provide a phone number.
On Saturdays, signs will direct you to the locations of where specific items (electronics, mattresses, hazardous waste, etc) must be dropped off. They are not dropped off in the same part of the facility as cans, bottles, etc.

If you’ve never recycled at the facility, here are step-by-step instructions for recycling cans and bottles for their redemption values in Vacaville.
Note the recyclables will need to be in a container such as a trash bag or garbage bin. The recyclables also must be separated by type.
Step 1: Finding the Recycling Center
The Vacaville recycling center can be difficult to find based off its address (855 1/2 Davis Street). The facility is at the end of a long driveway off Davis Street located between Winco Foods and the Right Ways Garage Door building.
At the end of the driveway, you’ll enter a gated area. The gate will be open during business hours.
On the right is the recycling facility. Park in a designated space. You’ll have to carry the recyclables into the facility so they’ll need to be in some sort of containers (like plastic trash bags).
You’ll carry your recyclables into the taped off area. As you walk in, there are several large plastic garbage containers shown in the photo above. You’ll dump your recyclables (separated by type) into these bins.
A staff member will then dump your bin into another bin and inspect the recyclables to ensure they are properly separated and no non-recyclable materials are mixed in with the items.
Then a staff member will carry your recyclables into the open garage door of the warehouse to be weighed.
Only one customer is allowed in the warehouse at a time.
If the compactors are running, this area can be very loud. I’ve gone with my young daughter and the noisy machines scared her.
Once inside, staff will weigh your containers on a large scale. You can see the current redemption values for recyclables on a posted sign.
Once your recyclables are weighed and you’ve provided identification, you’ll be issued a check for the redemption value.
A check is the only form of payment you’ll receive. They do not pay in cash.
