National Night Out in Vacaville

The 40th annual National Night Out will be celebrated this Tuesday, August 1st, on the streets of Vacaville. The event encourages residents to get outside the house and party it up with neighbors and first responders in a bid to strengthen community ties and help fight back against crime.

Parties are set to kickoff in Vacaville starting at 5 p.m. The organized events include neighborhood block parties with BBQs, pizza parties, ice cream socials, potlucks, and more. Police officers, firefighters, elected officials and other public safety representatives will be visiting parties until 8 p.m.

Events registered with the City of Vacaville should expect a visit from city, police, and fire department personnel as officials work to form and maintain positive relations in the community. Those hosting parties can register their events here.

The camaraderie-building events help bolster police-community partnerships and foster important ties among neighbors. The goal is to create neighborhoods that are safer and more caring places for people to live. The events are also just a lot of fun.

The City of Vacaville is also accepting donation items from local businesses for goodie bags. For more information about National Night Out, please contact the Community Policing Outreach Specialist, Amber McCabe, at 707-469-4805.
