WATCH: Vacaville Security Guard at Sunglass Hut Fends Off Apparent Thieves
Vacaville – A video circulating on social media captures the moment two apparent thieves entered the Sunglass Hut at the Vacaville Premium Outlets.
The video shows two individuals, both wearing hoodies, grabbing sunglasses on display in the store. One of the individuals can be seen filling a plastic bag with merchandise as a security guard confronts the two men. The suspects then flee the store with the unpaid merchandise in hand, but not before the security guard manages to snatch some of the loot.

An employee at the store confirmed the incident took place at the Vacaville outlet earlier this month but didn’t provide further comment per company policy.
Retail theft in recent years is on the rise across the Golden State as are videos of similar smash-and-grab incidents. The California Highway Patrol has taken the lead in a statewide effort to address organized retail theft.
